Per calendar month. Be careful as this is NOT four weeks’ pay, but 4.3 weeks. If you do not count carefully you could miss out on 4 weeks’ pay each year. Be sure to divide your annual salary by 12 to calculate your monthly wage.

“The WWCC assists in protecting children from sexual and physical harm by ensuring that people who work with, or care for, them are subject to a screening process.” You are on a register for 5 years and must provide your card number on any job application.

UK term. Police check, a certificate from police verifying you have no criminal record

All home-care related to the children, for example, cooking, cleaning and washing for your nanny charges. Includes meal preparation plus wiping down the kitchen and loading/unloading the dishwasher, tidying the children’s rooms and changing sheets, organising and rotating toys, managing children’s laundry and clothing turnover.

Family home, mansion or palace with teams of staff including personal assistants, butlers and nannies; house managers, housekeepers and maids; chefs and kitchen staff; drivers, gardeners and other extended help.

UK term. National Nursery Examination Board, a two year diploma in childcare.

Elimination Communication. This method teaches adults to monitor babies’ cues to help them urinate or defecate in a potty or toilet.
